Just to get things going, Fred - not a high level of expertise involved - you can easily check the HD with chkdsk( cmd prompt) and the memory( run/mdsched.exe). Also you might see if running it in safe mode for a while gives you the BSOD. If not, that tells you it is likely a driver/software issue, I would think. I presume it is a random occurrence, like moviefan's shut down issue on his laptop? Just thoughts from my shallow personal data base and problem solving process.. Maybe Vic or Cougar, Dalek or someone else will have some better ideas.
