Subject: Hey, boomer

I know you're not Vic...;)

"got it done in a day long binge process"....

Yeah, that's what I've been doing...except it didn't come with any backup disks that I can remember...LMAO

If I haven't bored you to tears about this particular laptop, if you've followed the thread...lol

It took about 8 hours for the
217/4 "important/optional" Win 7, Home Premium updates to DL and install.

After that, "it" prompted to install further updates....followed by even more updates...LOL

Used to have Internet Explorer 9...now it's 11(FWIW...just saying).

Internal sound is excellent.

Fixed the DVD drive(wiped the drive optics with denatured alcohol and dried with canned air).

No warnings on the device manager menu...

The left click button is working good.

I'm pleasantly surprised that I didn't FUBAR something when I took it apart...and that it's working so well.

This was a "binge" that turned out good for a change.

But, I can tell the "lag" time between rotating hard drives and Solid State Drives when there are intensive drive storage activities being performed.

"Based on issues I had years before that, with updates, I let Windows take over the process, avoiding out of sequence glitches. "

boomer, I hear that...

I remember Win 98, Win 98 SE2, etc....what a fricking PITA.

This particular update went as smooth as could be expected....just took a lot of time...I just let it run...didn't mess with it....:)

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then....

Now if I could just solve the intermittent shutdown problem on my other laptop with SSD's,
it would be even better...

Guess that's for another thread.

FWIW
