My main OS drive is a 500GB SS. I really think that contributes as much to the speed as the processor. Of course The NVIDIA GEForce GTX960 isn't off the charts, but it's luckily( I knew nothing about NVENC when I ordered the computer) good enough to run their NVENC which has been a game changer. All in all, HEVC rips/encodes that used to take 8-12 hours only take 45 minutes, often less. And the quality for the most part is the same. That's why I can get away posting almost entirely my own encodes - realize that when I say encodes, I'm not talking about complex command line operations with the encoders but GUI software, with Mediacoder(always for NVENC) or Handbrake. It is like driving a car - you don't need to be an expert mechanic to do it, but the more you learn can't hurt.
