I used to install networks for an electrical OEM. Something like 200 flights a year and all over the western US and Mexico. I hated wireless then and it has not come up much in my mind. Mostly because what I was doing could kill people and I never wanted to build a system that could do that. A lot of the stuff I designed, installed and commissioned was stand alone not connected to the outside world. I did one for the military and one night a red light turned on in Thunder Mountain as we had crashed the firewall at a nuke depository. Next day was filled with a lot of young folks and guns. One supervisor went to jail for his decisions. Lesson learned for me.
Been retired for 3 years now.
